Liverpool University Joins UK- Taiwan Consortium
The University of Liverpool joins the Association of British Universities in Taiwan. This is the first collaboration between a British and Taiwanese university, established by the British Council and Taiwan's Ministry of Education.
The Taiwan-British University Consortium brings together eight universities from Taiwan and the UK to advance international cooperation and address major global challenges.
Recently, eight members of the university signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the University of Edinburgh in the presence of the British Council and Taiwan's Ministry of Education. This signing marks the official launch of the Taiwanese-British university alliance.
Christine Bateman, Head of International Development at the University of Liverpool, said of the MoU: “The University recently announced its new strategy, which outlines its ambition to be globally recognized as a world-leading institution for research and education. Signing this MoU is an important step in achieving this ambition.
“At the event, attended by Professor Maulik Patel from the University’s School of Engineering and me, we were delighted to meet colleagues from these prestigious universities. Together, we have a shared vision of transcending academic disciplines and cultures. I look forward to us working together into the future.”
