KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology is a young and premier autonomous Institution, which is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. KPRIET was incepted in the year 2009 by The KPR Group of Industries, Coimbatore which has a large presence in Textiles, Sugar, Renewable Energy and Automobiles in India and abroad. The vision of the institution is to provide world class engineering education and create Engineers, Technologists and Researchers to serve the nation and the globe. KPRIET today has blossomed into a mature Institution of higher learning, offering eight UG programmes in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering and four PG Programmes in CAD/ CAM, CSE, Structural Engineering and VLSI. Six of the departments viz. Civil, CSE, ECE, Mechanical, Physics and Chemistry are recognised by Anna University as centres of Research for pursuing Ph.D. programmes.

KPRIET is accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade and Five UG Programmes viz. Civil, CSE, ECE, EEE and Mech are accredited by NBA. KPRIET is ranked among the top 200 Institutions in India during the year 2018, which is a rare achievement for an Institution in a short span of time. This Institution is certified as Scientific Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by DSIR. The Institution is also ISO certified for QMS and EMS.

The Institution is housed in a lush green campus of 160 acres. Dr. K.P.Ramasamy, Chairman, KPR Group says that the Alumni are the biggest source of strength to the Institution. The 1.5 lakh plus trees planted by him in the campus breathe for the pupils along with the faculty members who inculcate values, ethics & compassion in the students. Dr. K.R.Ramkumar, Senior Research Fellow (2010-14) and Mr B. Sri Yadav Raja Ram, Captain –Indian Army (2010-14) are the Alumni who have risen to top positions in their respective professions within a decade. They emulate

Faculty members feel empowered, enjoy the autonomy provided and have designed an exclusive curriculum, syllabi, teaching & learning process that focuses on Projects, Products and eventually Placement. The faculty members and students have together published 533 papers in reputed journals and filed 70 patents over the past years. The faculty members and students have demonstrated their timely contribution to the society during the Covid -19 pandemic by developing products such as Automatic Sanitizer, Foot Operated Hand Washer and Fahrentizer. The curriculum and syllabi are intended to meet the current industry demands. Gaps, if any, are rectified with hands-on skill training in the Centres of Excellence and standout labs such as Automation Lab, AWS Academy, Centre for AR & VR, Centre for Internet of Things, Centre for Automotive Research (Bosch Joint Certification), EmergoIgnitive Laboratory, GUVI Centre of Excellence, International Centre For Water Testing, Multiband Communication Lab, Redhat Academy, Renewable Energy Lab, Sensors and Embedded Lab and Software Development Lab. The Teaching-Learning process in KPRIET focuses on skill training, project based learning, internships and top-up lectures by eminent industry professionals. In addition, 23 clubs support the students’ overall development. Industry experts are roped in, to train the students on the knowledge segments that are important to the industries. Value added courses are supplemented into the system to equip the students for better placement in each domain. Experiential learning is introduced in every year of study. All these help the students compete and win laurels in technical competitions at the National and International level. Our students have won 3rdprize in the National Science & Technology Fair 2019 conducted by CODISSIA, Coimbatore, and won 2ndplace in IEEE YESIST 2019 Make Fair Track held at Stamford University, Thailand.

includes the development and sustenance of physical fitness among faculty and students. The indoor and outdoorsports facilities of KPRIET are one of the best with a total investment of Rs. 2 Crores.

Out students have won first prize in 5KM Walking competition, 2nd Prize in Triple Jump competition of Anna University Zone-9 Athletic Sports Meet 2019-20, 2nd prize in long jump competition held for CM Trophy at Coimbatore, 2 Gold Medals and 3 Bronze Medals in the Wrestling Championship held at different levels including Tamil Nadu State Wrestling Championship for the year 2019-20. 34 other top prizes are won by the students of KPRIET in similar competitions.

The Department of Training and Placement provides training for the students of all years to ensure placement with a higher salary range. 100% of our final years students are placed in National and International companies. Totally 625 job offers have been provided with 10 students above 10 LPA, 21 students above 6LPA, and 66 students above 4LPA. 180 offers have come from core companies. KPRIET has signed MOUs with 51 leading industries, Institutions that renders ample opportunities for students and faculty members to get their much needed practical exposure and research ambience. The accolades won by the students, performance of the qualified & experienced faculty members, the state-of-the-art infrastructure built and developed over the years make this institution one of the world class professional institution.

Dr. M. Akila, Principal
Dr. Akila is a committed Computer Science Professor who is inspiring and motivating students towards understanding various computer concepts. Dr. Akila has been actively engaged with professional organizations like IET and IEEE, has delivered 32 lectures at various institutes, seminars and conferences and published 3 patents and had facilitated faculty to write research proposals as Dean R&D and successful in getting 75 Lakhs worth funding to KPRIET.
