The South Indian Educational Society, founded in 1932 by a group of middle-class visionaries, began its journey with a modest school in Matunga before expanding into higher education.

With two government-aided science colleges already in operation, the trust ventured into professional education by establishing SIES College of Management Studies in 1997 at the Nerul Campus, Navi Mumbai. The college began with the Master of Management Studies (MMS) programme, the University of Mumbai’s equivalent of an MBA.
