British Council Announces GREAT Scholarships for Indians

The British Council, working with the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign, has unveiled the GREAT Scholarships 2026–27 to support Indian students aspiring to pursue postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom. This initiative is designed to help academically strong candidate’s access world‑class education and benefit from the UK’s globally respected higher‑education system, fostering deeper cultural and academic ties between India and the UK.
For the upcoming academic year, the programme is offering 12 prestigious postgraduate scholarships across a diverse range of institutions. These include Anglia Ruskin University, Queen’s University Belfast, the Royal College of Art, University of Bristol, University of Surrey, University of Reading, University of Dundee, Norwich University of the Arts, Royal Northern College of Music, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and UWE Bristol.
Each award comes with a minimum value of £10,000, which will go towards tuition fees for one‑year taught postgraduate courses. The scholarships span a wide range of academic disciplines, including finance, marketing, business, psychology, STEM, design, humanities, arts, music, and dance ensuring opportunities for students with varied academic interests.
