The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad has decided to relocate its entire Dubai campus batch to its main campus in Ahmedabad amid rising tensions in West Asia due to the ongoing conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran.
The institute has moved all 35 students who are enrolled in its one-year MBA program at the Dubai campus to India for their safety and academic studies.
The students were originally in Spain for an academic internship when the conflict escalated, prompting the institute to take precautionary measures.
The authorities decided to bring the students to Ahmedabad instead of returning them to Dubai because of the unpredictable and dangerous conditions that existed in the area.
The Gulf travel restrictions and security issues required the students to stay in their current location because the school needed to continue their studies without interruptions.

The Ahmedabad campus will provide students with their study program until West Asian conditions reach a stable state. The institute dedicated its resources to teaching management students through classroom interactions and peer interactions because they considered these methods to be essential elements of educational development.
IIM Ahmedabad opened its first international branch when it established its Dubai campus in September 2025 which provided Middle Eastern students with access to international education and top-tier management programs.
The geopolitical situation has created disruptions to operations because the institute must focus on protecting its students instead of executing its international activities.
IIM Ahmedabad demonstrates its commitment to managing crisis situations through academic schedule protection by relocating its operations to a different location. The students will complete their studies from the main campus in India until they can return to Dubai after the situation improves.
