Melbourne University Unveils BSc Dual Degree with Indian Institutions

The University of Melbourne has signed agreements with the University of Madras, Savitribai Phule Pune University, and Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (Hyderabad) to offer Indian students the new Bachelor of Science Dual Degree, which allows them to complete their degree in both Australia and India. Indian students who enroll in the new degree will spend two years studying in India and two years on campus at the University of Melbourne to complete their bachelor's degree.

Indian students can earn their Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne and receive the degree from the local institution. Indian students also have the opportunity to study up to six master’s subjects in their final year, so they can complete a master's from any of the offered suite of disciplines such as science, engineering, public health, and data science.

Professor Maskell said the new dual-degree represented the next logical step in the Bachelor of Science (Blended) program developed and quality assured by the University of Melbourne, which is now offered by seven institutions across the country.

Professor Dr Karbhari Vishwanath Kale, Vice-Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University, stated, “The Bachelor of Science Dual Degree is aligned to India’s National Educational Policy, which encourages exchange and interaction with esteemed international institutions such as the University of Melbourne. Our students develop the foundation needed to pursue international opportunities and graduate with a qualification that will enable them to design their destiny.”
