Uzbekistan Records 678,000 Applicants for 2026/27 Admissions

The number of applications for admission to universities in Uzbekistan reached 678,000 for 2026, which illustrates the rising desire for a higher education among the students of the country, as Uzbekistan is developing its higher education system further. This fact was reported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the country.
The recruiting effort has generated interest among students from all parts of the country and from various fields of study, such as engineering, information technology, medicine, education, economics, agriculture, law, and social sciences. It was observed that the consistent increase in number of applicants proves the effectiveness of the measures introduced to improve access to higher education institutions.
During the 2026 admission period, prospective students must be registered via the online admission portal of the government by providing their academic qualifications and choosing their desired universities and courses. This online application process has simplified the entire admission process, making it easier for students to apply online.
According to the Ministry, examinations shall be conducted on the basis of the prescribed admission calendar, and candidates shall vie for admissions to various undergraduate programs available at the universities throughout the nation. Admission shall be made on the basis of the performance of the candidates in the examinations as well as the criteria for admission to each program.
