Andhra CM Urges IIT Alumni to Unite for Nation-Building

Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu urges IIT alumni to support nation-building as PanIIT and the state announce a ₹500-crore deep-tech fund, research initiatives, industry chairs and startup mentorship.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu calls on IIT alumni to contribute their expertise and innovative ideas towards nation-building, as the state enters into multiple agreements with PanIIT to strengthen its technology, startup and research ecosystem.
Addressing the valedictory session of the two-day PanIIT summit, Naidu says the collective knowledge of around five lakh IIT graduates can play an important role in advancing India’s development. He urges IITians across the world to network and contribute their ideas, expertise and experience to national development.

The Andhra Pradesh government and PanIIT announce several initiatives, including the establishment of the PanIIT Amaravati Council and a PanIIT Amaravati World Council in the state’s proposed capital city. A ₹500-crore PanIIT Amaravati Deep Tech Venture Fund is also planned to support deep-tech startups, innovation and investment.
The agreements also include the establishment of 10 industry chairs in Andhra Pradesh universities and a network of 100 mentors to support startups and aspiring entrepreneurs. The partnership is expected to facilitate technology transfer from IITs and contribute to the state’s deep-tech policy framework.
Naidu also announces plans for an IIT Research Park in Amaravati, with IITs expected to mentor state universities and support the establishment of Centres of Excellence.
The Chief Minister says Andhra Pradesh will introduce AI and entrepreneurship skills from Class 6 onwards, while also promoting student exchange programmes and stronger industry-academia collaboration.
During the summit, five Q-Shiva quantum computers developed in Amaravati are launched. Naidu says the first quantum computer is expected to begin functioning in Amaravati on February 3, 2027, as the state seeks to position the city as a “Quantum Valley”.

The state is also pursuing initiatives across semiconductors, aerospace, defence, drones and space technology. Naidu says the PanIIT network can help strengthen research, innovation and technology development across these sectors.
The summit concludes with the Amaravati PanIIT Declaration, which outlines a long-term collaboration between the Andhra Pradesh government and the IIT alumni network to promote research, entrepreneurship, technology transfer and advanced technology-led development.
