GATE 2026 Form Correction Begins; IIT Guwahati Lists Details

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has formally launched the application correction period for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026.
Candidates enrolled for the exam can now modify certain information in their application forms via the official portal - goaps.iitg.ac.in, or access gate2026.iitg.ac.in. The correction window will stay operational until November 3, 2025.
Applicants must log in with their enrolment ID and password to amend their details. According to the official announcement, a fee for modifications will apply for every adjustable detail. Applicants should thoroughly examine their application forms and correct any errors prior to the deadline, as no additional changes will be allowed afterward.
The GATE 2026 correction period permits changes in various important areas, with designated fees for each paper. Applicants seeking modifications to their application may do so by paying particular correction fees based on the type of alteration. A charge of ₹500 will apply for changes to name, date of birth, exam city, or paper.
The fee for changing gender to female is ₹500, whereas changing gender from female to another gender costs ₹500 for SC/ST/PwD candidates and ₹1500 for all others. Likewise, switching to SC/ST category incurs a fee of ₹500, while altering category from SC/ST to any other category costs ₹500 for female/PwD candidates and ₹1500 for all others.

A change from Non-PwD/Dyslexic to PwD/Dyslexic will attract a fee of ₹500, while transitioning from PwD/Dyslexic to Non-PwD/Dyslexic will cost ₹500 for female/PwD candidates and ₹1500 for all others. Any additional category-related modifications will also incur a charge of ₹500. However, there will be no charge for changing parent or guardian information, communication address, college name, location, roll number, or details about the qualifying degree.
The GATE 2026 exam is scheduled to take place on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, for MTech admissions and other postgraduate courses offered by IITs, as well as for recruitment undertakings (PSUs). Applicants should address all required changes by November 3, 2025, to maintain the validity of their applications for the forthcoming national engineering entrance examination.
