GATE 2026 Registration Ends Today: Steps, Fees & Exam Updates

IIT Guwahati will end the GATE 2026 registration window TODAY (October 6) without any late fee. The registration link for GATE 2026 at IIT Guwahati is live on the GOAPS. If candidates missed the deadline, they can still submit their application until October 9 by paying a late fee.
The application form can be accessed exclusively online. Candidates can follow the steps outlined below to apply for the GATE 2026 exam without overlooking the deadline.
- Go to the official GATE 2026 site - gate2026.iitg.ac.in
- Select the portal for the application form
- Sign up by providing your name, email, and mobile information to receive your enrollment ID.
- Complete the information accurately and submit the necessary documents.
- Submit the form and pay the application fees
For GATE 2026 enrollment, applicants must upload certain documents for verification and admit card generation. This includes a recent photo and signature image in JPG or JPEG format, as well as a scanned copy of a valid identification proof. Furthermore, candidates with disabilities or dyslexia are required to submit their medical certificates in PDF format.
The status of the GATE application form indicates your current progress with the form. To verify the form status, sign in with your enrollment ID and password at the GATE 2026 candidate login. If applicants get “GATE application status under scrutiny,” it indicates that the officials are in the process of checking the information.
The final date to apply for GATE 2026 with late fees is October 9. To submit their applications within this timeframe, students must pay INR 1500 (for females, SC/ST, and PwD) and INR 2500 (for others) accordingly. This charge applies solely to the individual GATE paper.

The registration link for GATE 2026 with late fees remains unchanged. Applicants must adhere to the same procedures to finish the application process. Nonetheless, during the payment phase, applicants will incur an extra charge.
The GATE 2026 correction option will be provided following the registration procedure. The officials will inform on the official site. The final date for submitting alterations is November 6. The GATE 2026 exam will be held by the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, on February 7, 8, 14, and 15.
The exam will be conducted in two sessions. The forenoon session will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, while the afternoon session is scheduled from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
