Google AI Professional Certificate launched for students

Google CEO Sundar Pichai introduced the Google AI Professional Certificate at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, which took place in New Delhi to assist students and professionals in developing vital artificial intelligence skills.
Google announced the initiative through its India-America Connect Initiative which aims to strengthen technology connections between India and the United States while developing AI infrastructure and education in both nations.
The Google AI Professional Certificate course provides students with fundamental knowledge of artificial intelligence which includes machine learning and neural networks together with their practical implementations.
Participants will also gain hands-on experience using Google’s AI tools and platforms which will help them apply AI solutions effectively in professional settings.
The programme develops skilled AI practitioners who can meet industrial demands while creating career opportunities in emerging technology fields.

Pichai announced Google will invest substantial resources into Indian technology development through the certificate program which he presented.
The company is investing USD 15 billion to build a full-stack AI hub in Visakhapatnam (Vizag) which will contain extensive computing systems and function as an international terminal for underwater internet connections.
The project will create new undersea cable pathways to improve AI network connections between India and the United States and southern hemisphere countries.
The system improvements will enhance data transfer rates while minimizing delay times and enabling the operation of artificial intelligence systems across extensive usage scenarios.
Pichai stated that organizations need to provide training programs which enable people to use new technological advancements after they establish their AI systems and improve their connectivity networks.
Google wants to make AI education accessible to everyone through its professional certificate program and partnerships with Indian organizations to help students develop skills needed for future jobs.
