Pradhan Launches IIM Lucknow AI Courses, One via JEE

• Dharmendra Pradhan launches three new Artificial Intelligence programmes at IIM Lucknow.
• One undergraduate AI course will require JEE Advanced score for admission.
• Programmes aim to integrate AI education with management and digital leadership skills.

The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow expanded its educational programs through three new Artificial Intelligence,  academic programs  which Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated during the Bharat Bodhan AI Conclave 2026.

The launch was described as a “historic step toward democratising AI education” and enhancing India’s leadership in ethical and responsible AI across sectors.

Pradhan explained that these programs will create future leaders who can use AI technology to advance national development while maintaining human-centred systems. He highlighted India’s demographic advantage because the country has a young talent pool which will create homegrown AI solutions that promote equal economic development.

According to IIM Lucknow officials, the newly announced programmes combine advanced AI competencies with management strategy, aiming to bridge technology and business leadership.

The institute’s director, Prof. MP Gupta, described the curriculum as “thoughtfully designed,” which helps students transform their AI research into practical business solutions that benefit society.

The academic programs will help India achieve its digital goals through Digital India and India AI Mission initiatives by teaching graduates skills in AI decision-making and digital leadership and innovation-based entrepreneurship.

The phased rollout includes a four-year Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics program which will start its first academic year in 2026–27 and require students to apply using their JEE Advanced scores.

The two-year Tech MBA program will begin in 2027–28 while the integrated five-year BS plus Tech MBA program will provide students with a combined academic track to follow.

IIM Lucknow aims to achieve three core goals with these offerings individual excellence, national impact, and global leadership.

The programs develop future innovators through responsible AI education and cross-disciplinary expertise which prepares them to solve societal problems while advancing India's goal of becoming a technological powerhouse.
