Google Offers Indian Students One Year of Free AI Plus Plan

Google offers eligible Indian college students a free one-year AI Plus plan with Gemini tools, 400GB storage and higher usage limits. New Student Hub features support coursework, research, quizzes, study plans and JEE-NEET preparation.

Google is expanding access to its artificial intelligence tools for students in India by offering eligible college students a free Google AI Plus subscription for 12 months. The initiative is part of the company’s broader student-focused AI push and comes alongside new learning features across Gemini and Google Search.

Under the offer, Indian students can access Google AI Plus at no cost for one year. The plan provides access to Gemini Omni, higher usage limits and 400 GB of cloud storage. Google is also offering students discounted access to its AI Pro plan at ₹489 per month for up to four years, while a bundled AI Pro and YouTube Premium plan is available for ₹550 per month.

The company is simultaneously introducing a new Student Hub within the Gemini app, bringing multiple AI-powered study tools into a single platform. Students can use the hub to organise coursework, create study plans, prepare flashcards and practice through customised quizzes. Google is also introducing study notebooks that can help break down complex academic topics into more manageable learning material.

The new features extend to visual and interactive learning. Gemini can generate interactive 3D visualisations to help students understand difficult concepts, while Google Search is adding educational tools such as practice quizzes and interactive explanations. Students can also use AI to work with their own study materials and create personalised learning resources.

Google is also strengthening support for competitive-exam preparation in India. Its new learning capabilities include tools designed to assist students preparing for examinations such as the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). These features aim to help learners test their understanding and practise concepts in a more interactive format.

Through the latest offering, Google is positioning Gemini and its wider AI ecosystem as academic support tools, giving students access to research, revision, organisation and interactive learning capabilities while making premium AI services more accessible.
