IIT BHU Recruitment 2026 Opens for Over 50 Vacancies

IIT-BHU invites applications for 55 non-teaching positions, including Junior Superintendent, Junior Technician, Engineer, Library Assistant and Translation Officer roles. Eligible candidates can apply online through September 24, 2026.

The Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, has invited applications for 55 non-teaching positions across administrative, technical, engineering, library and language-related roles. The recruitment drive provides opportunities for qualified candidates to join the institute in various professional positions.

The vacancies include 21 Junior Superintendent posts, along with positions for Junior Technicians across five groups. The institute has announced four vacancies for Junior Technician Group-I, 11 for Group-II, three for Group-III, four for Group-IV and four for Group-V. Other openings include two Junior Library Assistant posts, two Assistant Engineer positions, three Junior Engineer posts and one Junior Translation Officer position.

Eligibility requirements vary according to the post. Candidates applying for Junior Superintendent positions must hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 55% marks and possess the prescribed relevant work experience. They must also demonstrate proficiency in office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

For Junior Technician roles, the academic requirements differ by technical discipline. Group-I requires a bachelor’s degree in science with Chemistry or Physics as one of the subjects. Other technician positions require qualifications in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Ceramic, Materials Science, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Mining, Computer Science or Information Technology. Candidates with relevant three-year engineering diplomas may also be eligible for several technician categories, subject to experience requirements.

The recruitment also covers engineering and specialised administrative functions. Assistant Engineer applicants require a relevant Civil or Electrical Engineering degree or diploma along with prescribed professional experience, while Junior Engineer candidates need a Civil Engineering qualification and relevant post-qualification experience. The Junior Translation Officer position requires a bachelor’s degree in Hindi and experience in English-Hindi and Hindi-English translation work.

The application process is conducted online through the IIT-BHU recruitment portal. Eligible candidates can submit their applications until September 24, 2026. Applicants are required to carefully review the prescribed educational qualifications, experience and other eligibility conditions before submitting their forms.
