IIT Delhi Opens 9th Batch Admissions for Quantum Computing Course

IIT Delhi’s Continuing Education Programme opens admissions for the ninth batch of its online Certification in Quantum Computing and Machine Learning, covering quantum algorithms, machine learning and quantum machine learning.

The Continuing Education Programme (CEP) of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has opened admissions for the ninth batch of its Certification in Quantum Computing and Machine Learning programme. The online certification is designed to help learners understand quantum systems and apply machine-learning techniques to computational and industry challenges.

The programme is offered by the Bharti School of Telecommunication Technology and Management under the aegis of CEP, IIT Delhi. The curriculum combines quantum computing fundamentals with machine-learning concepts and their applications. It comprises seven structured modules covering areas such as quantum mechanics, quantum algorithms, classical machine learning, Quantum Fourier Transform, quantum machine learning and product analytics.

Participants will receive exposure to both theoretical concepts and practical applications. The programme includes more than 130 hours of synchronous and asynchronous learning, with live sessions conducted by IIT Delhi faculty members and industry experts. Learners will also work on projects intended to translate concepts into computational applications.

Practical learning is supported through tools including Qiskit, while the curriculum is designed to help participants explore the intersection of quantum computing and artificial intelligence. The programme also includes a one-day campus immersion at IIT Delhi, giving participants an opportunity to interact with faculty members and peers and gain exposure to applied aspects of the subject.

The certification is aimed at graduates and professionals seeking to build capabilities in emerging quantum and AI technologies. Candidates holding a BTech or BE degree, BCA or MCA, BSc in any discipline, or BA or MA in Mathematics are eligible to apply.

The programme comes as quantum technologies and quantum machine learning continue to attract research and industry interest. India’s National Quantum Mission, with an approved allocation of ₹6,003.65 crore for 2023-24 to 2030-31, is focused on developing quantum research capabilities, technology platforms and an ecosystem supporting innovation and applications.
