IIT Delhi Opens AI Forward Deployed Engineering Applications

Synopsis: IIT Delhi invites applications for its Advanced Certificate Programme in AI Forward Deployed Engineering, designed to equip working professionals with practical skills in deploying enterprise AI solutions across real-world business environments.

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has opened applications for its Advanced Certificate Programme in AI Forward Deployed Engineering, a specialised course aimed at helping working professionals build expertise in deploying artificial intelligence solutions within enterprise environments. Offered through the institute's Continuing Education Programme (CEP), the course is designed to bridge the gap between AI development and real-world implementation.

The programme focuses on preparing participants for emerging roles such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Applied AI Engineer, and AI Solutions Architect. Unlike conventional AI courses that primarily emphasise model development, the curriculum concentrates on deploying AI applications in production environments by integrating them with enterprise systems, business workflows, and customer requirements. It follows a 70:30 build-to-deliver approach, combining technical expertise with client-facing implementation skills.

Spread across 145 hours of live and recorded sessions, the programme comprises 24 modules delivered in four structured phases. Weekend classes make it suitable for working professionals, while an optional two-day campus immersion at IIT Delhi provides participants with additional opportunities for interaction and hands-on learning.

The curriculum covers Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic AI systems, large language model (LLM) fine-tuning, AI security, enterprise integration, compliance frameworks, and deployment strategies for production-ready AI applications. Participants will also complete five capstone projects culminating in a live deployment presentation before a panel of experts.

The programme is open to graduates with degrees in BTech, BE, BCA, MCA, BSc, and BA or MA in Mathematics. The total programme fee is ₹1.65 lakh plus applicable GST. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a verifiable e-certificate issued by the Continuing Education Programme, IIT Delhi. Learners securing at least 50% attendance and 50% aggregate marks in quizzes will receive a Certificate of Successful Completion, while those meeting only the attendance requirement will be awarded a Certificate of Participation.
