IIT Delhi Opens Applications for Online Robotics Programme 2027

IIT Delhi opens applications for its five-month online Executive Programme in Robotics, covering AI, machine learning and robot control, with classes beginning January 30, 2027.

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has opened applications for the fourth batch of its Executive Programme in Robotics, a five-month online course focusing on robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and robot control. The programme is scheduled to begin on January 30, 2027, and conclude on June 26, 2027.

Offered through IIT Delhi’s Continuing Education Programme (CEP), the course aims to equip learners with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to design, build and operate robotic systems. It is intended for graduates seeking to develop expertise in robotics and automation, as well as professionals looking to expand their technical capabilities.

The curriculum covers robotics fundamentals, automation, sensing and perception, robot design, motion control, embedded systems, simulation and the application of AI and machine learning in robotic systems. Participants will also gain exposure to tools and technologies such as the Robotics Operating System (ROS), computer-aided design (CAD), 3D printing, sensors and actuators.

The programme follows an application-oriented learning model, with 40% of the coursework dedicated to theory and 60% to practical training. Participants will have the opportunity to build a functional robot as part of the course. The curriculum is designed to connect foundational concepts with practical applications across industries adopting robotics and intelligent automation.

Candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply. Classes will be conducted online on Saturdays and alternate Sundays from 10 am to 2:30 pm, allowing participants to pursue the programme alongside other commitments.

The programme fee is ₹1,69,000, excluding 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST). Applicants must also pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹1,000. The application deadline is October 17, 2026, according to the official programme page.
