The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) invites applications for its Applied AI Professional Certification Programme, designed for working professionals seeking practical expertise in developing and deploying artificial intelligence applications. The four-week programme focuses on building reliable AI agents and translating AI concepts into real-world solutions.

The October cohort runs from October 24 to November 14, 2026, in a hybrid format. Participants can attend instructor-led sessions either on the IIT Hyderabad campus or online. The programme combines faculty-led instruction, hands-on laboratory sessions, guided learning, project development and mentoring.

The programme targets software engineers, full-stack developers, data scientists, AI engineers and other professionals involved in developing AI-powered systems.

Applicants should have a basic understanding of Python programming, REST APIs, generative artificial intelligence and large language models (LLMs). However, prior experience with LangChain or LangGraph is not mandatory, making the programme accessible to professionals who possess foundational technical knowledge and want to expand their AI engineering skills.

The curriculum follows a hands-on approach, enabling participants to progressively develop a production-style AI agent application. Key topics include tool integration, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), memory management, orchestration, multi-agent systems, evaluation, observability, guardrails and deployment.

Through practical assignments and project-based learning, participants explore how AI agents retrieve information, interact with tools, coordinate tasks and produce more reliable outputs. The programme also emphasises testing, monitoring and safeguards required to make AI applications suitable for real-world use.

The learning structure combines instructor-led sessions with guided work and mentor support, helping participants apply concepts throughout the course rather than relying solely on theoretical instruction.
