CSIR-UGC NET December 2026 Application Portal Opens,Check Details

NTA opens registration for the CSIR-UGC NET December 2026 session, with applications available until November 5. The CBT examination is scheduled for December 19, 22 and 27 across five science subjects.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) opens the application process for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2026 examination, inviting eligible candidates to register online for the national-level eligibility test. The examination is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and determines eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor Positions and admission to PhD programmes.
Candidates can submit their applications through the official CSIR-UGC NET portal until November 5, 2026, up to 11:50 pm. The deadline for examination fee payment without late charges is also November 5. Candidates who apply with a late fee can submit their forms from November 6 to 9.

The application correction window is scheduled from November 10 to 12, 2026. The December session examination is scheduled to take place on December 19, 22 and 27, 2026.
The three-hour examination is conducted in two shifts. The first shift runs from 9 am to 12 noon, while the second shift is scheduled from 3 pm to 6 pm. The examination is conducted in English and Hindi.
Candidates are advised to carefully enter their personal, academic and other details while completing the application form. NTA also directs applicants to upload the required documents correctly and complete the fee payment within the prescribed timeline.
The Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2026 examination covers five subject areas: Chemical Sciences; Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences; Life Sciences and Biotechnology; Mathematical Sciences; and Physical Sciences.
The examination serves as an eligibility test for Indian nationals seeking JRF and Assistant Professor Eligibility, as well as candidates seeking admission to doctoral programmes under the applicable categories.
