IIT ISM Dhanbad to Offer Free Education to Top 1,000 JEE Advanced Rankers

In a significant relief for deserving yet financially weaker students, IIT ISM Dhanbad will offer free education to individuals who achieve a rank below 1,000 in the forthcoming JEE Advanced 2025. This program seeks to assist talented students and enhance the institute's All India Ranking (AIR).

Deputy Director Prof Dheeraj Kumar discussed these details in a chat with ETV Bharat. He mentioned that students frequently encounter financial obstacles or depend on bank loans to achieve higher education, but those students shouldn't be concerned anymore. "Our goal is to make quality education accessible and remove the burden of fees for deserving students," he said.

Professor Kumar also emphasized the remarkable placement statistics of IIT ISM. Students, particularly in circuit disciplines such as Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, and even non-circuit areas like Mining and Mineral, have secured outstanding job offers. Lately, a student from a non-circuit discipline received a package valued at Rs 1.26 crore, whereas several others obtained offers reaching ₹60 lakh.

He stressed that the difference between the top 10 IITs and newer IITs (Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3) isn't significant. "What matters most is how students use the available resources and the guidance of the faculty," he added.

To meet the evolving needs, new courses and fields have also been established. Although IIT ISM has been recognized for its B Tech in Mining for years, a growing number of students are now leaning towards white-collar professions. To fulfill this demand, ISM has teamed up with IIT Bombay to provide a dual degree program - B.Tech + MBA - in five years - additionally, there are options for integrated B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs.

The results for JEE Main (combined Season 1 and 2) have been announced, with the cutoff for eligibility in JEE Advanced set at approximately 93 percentile. Students who achieved this percentile and have 75% marks in their board examinations (CBSE or any other board) can now sign up for JEE Advanced via the official website.
