IIT JAM 2027 Registration to Begin on September 12
IIT Kharagpur will open IIT JAM 2027 registration on September 12, with applications closing October 12. The exam will be held February 14 across 114 cities for seven test papers, with eligibility, fees and admission details announced.
The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur will begin the registration process for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027 on September 12, 2026. The application window will remain open until October 12, giving candidates seeking postgraduate admissions through JAM one month to complete the registration process. Applications will be submitted online through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS).
IIT JAM 2027 will be conducted on February 14, 2027, in computer-based mode across approximately 114 cities. The examination will be held in two sessions and will cover seven test papers: Biotechnology, Chemistry, Economics, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics and Physics.

The forenoon session will run from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and include Chemistry, Geology and Mathematics. Biotechnology, Economics, Mathematical Statistics and Physics will be conducted during the afternoon session from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates can opt for one or two test papers, provided papers selected for the two-paper option are scheduled in different sessions.
Candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree or are appearing for their final qualifying examination in 2027 can apply. There is no age restriction for appearing in JAM. However, candidates must meet the programme-specific eligibility requirements prescribed by the respective admitting institute.
The application fee for one test paper is ₹1,000 for female, SC, ST and PwD candidates, while other candidates will pay ₹2,000. For two test papers, the corresponding fees are ₹1,350 and ₹2,700. The fee is non-refundable.
Applicants should keep their Class 10 certificate, recent photograph, scanned signature, valid photo identification and applicable category or PwD certificates ready before beginning registration. After entering personal and academic details, candidates must select their test paper and examination cities, upload documents, pay the prescribed fee and submit the application.

The JAM 2027 admit card is scheduled for January 5, 2027, while the result is expected on March 18, 2027. JAM scores will be used for postgraduate admissions, including M.Sc., Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D., MS (Research) and Integrated Ph.D. programmes at participating institutions.
