The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur invites applications for Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) positions for its 2026 intake. The fellowship is open to Indian and foreign nationals, including Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), who have a strong academic record, quality research experience and relevant industrial exposure. The last date to submit applications is September 30, 2026.

The programme provides researchers with an opportunity to pursue advanced research while contributing to teaching and academic activities at the institute. IIT Jodhpur offers post-doctoral research opportunities across several departments and schools, including Aerospace Engineering, Chemistry, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Design and Liberal Arts, among others.

Selected Post-Doctoral Fellows receive a fellowship of ₹80,000 per month, along with a contingency grant of ₹50,000 per year to support research-related requirements. The fellowship is designed to support researchers undertaking interdisciplinary and advanced research at IIT Jodhpur.

The institute's post-doctoral programme covers a broad range of research areas, including Bioscience and Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics and Sophisticated Instrumentation.

Candidates applying for the fellowship are expected to hold a PhD in an appropriate discipline and demonstrate a consistently strong academic record and research potential. IIT Jodhpur's fellowship guidelines also specify that applicants should generally have obtained their PhD within five years of applying, with an age limit of below 35 years, subject to applicable relaxations.
