IIT Kanpur Applied Data Science & Machine Intelligence Course

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has opened registrations for its new short online course titled Applied Data Science & Machine Intelligence: Fundamentals to Next-Generation AI, which targets students researchers professionals and entrepreneurs who want to develop their artificial intelligence and machine learning skills.

The programme will run from June 1 to July 15 2026 through 45 days of learning which includes recorded lectures live sessions hands-on projects and expert talks. The course provides learners with flexible access to its content which they can view at any time because materials are scheduled to accommodate various study times.

The curriculum covers key areas of modern AI, including machine learning fundamentals, deep learning algorithms, large language models (LLMs), generative AI applications, and real-world case studies. Participants will complete more than 10 practical projects which will help them understand theoretical concepts while building their practical skills.

 The programme coordinator is Prof. Rajesh Hegde from IIT Kanpur, and the course is structured to help participants understand both foundational ideas and emerging trends in data science and AI tools.

 The event has different participation fees which depend on participant category and registration time, and it offers early bird discounts until February 28, 2026, while normal registration will continue until May 10, 2026. International participants can also enrol with fees listed in US dollars.
