IIT Madras Opens Applications for Executive MBA Programme

IIT Madras invites applications for its 2027 Executive MBA programme until October 26, 2026. The two-year course requires a bachelor’s degree and three years of work experience, with a total fee of ₹17 lakh.

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) invites applications for its Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programme for the 2027 intake. Designed for mid-career professionals, the two-year programme aims to strengthen managerial capabilities, leadership skills and strategic decision-making while allowing participants to continue working.

The Department of Management Studies (DoMS) at IIT Madras accepts online applications until October 26, 2026. The programme follows a blended learning format, combining in-person and virtual classes on alternate weekends. The new batch is scheduled to commence in January 2027.

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 60% marks and possess a minimum of three years of work experience after graduation. The selection process includes a written aptitude test and a personal interview at the IIT Madras campus.

Shortlisted candidates are scheduled to participate in the selection process on November 14 and 15, 2026. The written test assesses business aptitude, logical reasoning, quantitative ability and verbal ability. The institute plans to announce the results by December 2026.

The programme also provides a limited number of seats for company-sponsored candidates, who must submit sponsorship letters in the prescribed format from their employers.

The Executive MBA curriculum combines core management principles with technology, innovation and contemporary business challenges. Key subjects include platform economics, global business management, cybersecurity applications, and business models and innovation.

The programme follows a practice-oriented structure covering functional foundations, integrated business perspectives and global leadership. It aims to help participants understand different business functions, manage cross-functional challenges and develop strategies for growth, profitability and sustainability.

Capstone projects form part of the learning experience, enabling participants to apply management concepts to practical business problems.

The total course fee is ₹17 lakh, payable in four semester instalments of ₹4.25 lakh each. The fee does not include the optional International Learning Programme.
