IIT Madras Pravartak, SWAYAM Plus Launch AI HR Course

The IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation and the SWAYAM Plus initiative of the Union Education Ministry are set to introduce an AI-driven HR Analytics program.

The initial group, as mentioned in a statement released by the Institute, is set to commence in January 2026. Applicants have until December 30 to enroll in the program. Candidates who are interested can sign up at iitmpravartak.org.in/HR-Analytics and can email dsa@iitmpravartak.net for additional details.

The program aims to provide learners with data-informed and AI-powered HR skills that meet the evolving needs of the workforce and organizations. The program spans four months and features two days of on-campus instruction at IIT Madras.

It includes sessions conducted by IIT Madras instructors and industry professionals with expertise in HR analytics and artificial intelligence. Participants will engage in a practical, industry-oriented HR Analytics capstone project that includes HR dashboards, AI uses in HR, predictive modeling, essential HR metrics, and decision-making based on data.

Emphasizing the necessity for these initiatives to enhance the skills of Indian students and professionals, Dr. M.J. Shankar Raman, Chief Executive Officer, IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, said, “This programme marks an important step toward transforming HR into a truly data-driven and AI-empowered function. By combining academic rigor with practical industry insights, we aim to prepare future-ready HR leaders who can drive meaningful impact in organisations of tomorrow.”

The HR Analytics Programme responds to the industry change by combining essential HR principles with advanced analytics, AI technologies, machine learning predictive models, and practical case-based education, as stated. The program is ideal for students and working professionals, especially those in entry to mid-level HR roles, future HR leaders, and industry professionals from fields such as aviation, technology, and services.
