TNEA 2026 Registration Begins at Official Portal

The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026 registration process has started because it marks the beginning of admission procedures for undergraduate engineering programs throughout the state. The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) operates TNEA as a unified admission system which provides access to B.E. and B.Tech programs at government, government-aided, and private engineering colleges that the Anna University system.
The application process exists as an online system which operates through the official portal. Candidates need to create an account by providing their name and email ID and mobile number before they can complete their academic and personal information.
The registration process requires applicants to submit both their documents and registration fee for successful completion of their application. The application window will stay open until June 2026 which provides students with a restricted period for submitting their applications.
The TNEA 2026 eligibility requirements state that candidates must show proof of passing Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. The admission process requires candidates to take three mandatory subjects which include Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with their admission results determined by their test scores in these three subjects because there is no alternative entrance exam. The minimum passing score for different categories of candidates shows that general candidates need about 45% while reserved category candidates need slightly lower scores.

Applicants must also ensure they have all required documents ready for submission. The required documents include Class 10 and 12 mark sheets and a valid ID proof and community certificate if applicable and nativity certificate where required and other relevant records. Accurate document submission is crucial because any discrepancies which arise during the verification process will result in rejection.
The certificate verification process will take place after candidates complete their application process and then the merit list will be created using their normalized Class 12 scores. The rank list will establish who can participate in the counselling session which is scheduled to start in July 2026. The counselling process will allow candidates to select their desired colleges and courses before the university allocates seats and conducts final admission procedures.
