Union Bank of India has announced a major apprenticeship recruitment drive for 2026, offering 1,865 vacancies across its branches nationwide. The program provides fresh graduates with an opportunity to acquire practical banking experience through the Apprentices Act of 1961.

The online application process began on April 29, 2026, and will remain open until May 19, 2026. The official website serves as the only application platform for interested candidates because offline applications will not be accepted.

To be eligible, applicants must hold a graduate degree from a recognised university and meet the age criteria, which establish 20 to 28 years as the acceptable range for applicants who will reach their 26th birthday on April 1, 2026.

The recruitment process allows candidates from all over India to apply since job openings exist in various states and union territories throughout the country. The program distribution across multiple regions guarantees that candidates from various backgrounds will have a chance to join the program.

The selection process consists of multiple stages which include an online written examination and a local language proficiency test and document verification and a medical examination.

The written test will evaluate candidates through assessment of their reasoning abilities and quantitative aptitude skills and English proficiency and their general knowledge. The selected candidates will work as apprentices for one year to acquire practical banking experience.

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend, which varies depending on the location of posting, typically ranging from ₹15,000 to ₹20,000. The apprenticeship program provides valuable industry experience and practical skills, but it does not lead to permanent employment.

The recruitment drive provides graduates with a major chance to establish their banking and financial services skills, which will improve their chances of getting hired.
