IIT Madras has partnered with University of Canterbury to create new international academic pathways for students, enabling them to seamlessly continue their higher education abroad.
The collaboration establishes a defined academic path which permits IIT Madras BS program students to advance their studies through postgraduate programs at the New Zealand University, especially its Master of Applied Data Science degree.
Under this arrangement, students will complete their undergraduate studies at IIT Madras and proceed to University of Canterbury postgraduate programmes after they fulfill the necessary academic requirements.
The integrated pathway provides students with multiple options to continue their studies while gaining opportunities to experience international education systems.
The agreement, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding signed on March 30, 2026, goes beyond student mobility and includes provisions for broader academic collaboration.
