IIT Roorkee Announces JEE Advanced Date, Details Here

IIT Roorkee has officially revealed the date and time for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam. The JEE Advanced test is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, 2025, and will take place in Computer-Based Mode (CBT).

Paper 1 will take place from 9 am to 12 pm, while Paper 2 will be held from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. IIT Roorkee will soon publish the comprehensive timetable, list of exam cities, and informational brochure on the official website, jeeadv.ac.in. The test will be offered in both English and Hindi.

Only candidates who meet the cut-off for the JEE Main 2026 session 1 and session 2 exams will be permitted to take the JEE Advanced 2026. Additionally, candidates must rank within the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (across all categories) in the BE/BTech paper of JEE (Main) 2026.

Candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 2001. A five-year age concession is provided to SC, ST, and PwD candidates, indicating they should have been born on or after October 1, 1996. A candidate can take JEE (Advanced) up to 2 times in 2 consecutive years. A candidate must have taken the class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2025 or 2026, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.

Candidates who took the Class XII (or equivalent) exam for the first time in 2024 or earlier are not qualified to sit for JEE (Advanced) 2026, regardless of the combination or number of subjects attempted/offered.

The shortlisted candidates' percentages for different categories are: 10% for GEN-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, while the remaining 40.5% is available to all. In each of these five categories, a 5% horizontal reservation is provided for candidates with disabilities (PwD).
