IITM Pravartak Launches Applied AI & ML Certification Program
- IITM Pravartak, Emeritus, and IBM launched an Advanced Certification Program in Applied AI and Machine Learning to bridge the industry skill gap.
- The program covers foundational to advanced AI topics, including Generative AI and Large Language Models, with practical projects and expert-led sessions.

IITM Pravartak, in collaboration with Emeritus and IBM, has launched the Advanced Certification Programme in Applied Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, aimed at addressing the widening skill gap between AI advancements and industry-prepared professionals.
The project falls within the scope of IITM Pravartak, the institute's technology innovation center, which receives backing from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
Considering the increasing significance of AI and machine learning, the program has been designed for professionals from different areas who wish to enhance their careers in these disciplines.
It provides a versatile curriculum that accommodates both technical and non-technical backgrounds. It serves data scientists and software engineers striving to improve their technical skills, business analysts and consultants wanting to utilize AI for informed decision-making, along with product managers and product owners aiming to incorporate AI/ML into product strategies.

Directed by IIT faculty members, including Professor C Chandra Sekhar and Professor Dileep A.D, the program will encompass basic principles, advanced subjects such as Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), along with their practical uses. It will feature weekly video recordings for self-directed learning, live master classes with industry experts, and a two-week final project.
The initiative will offer over 25 tools and libraries, including TensorFlow, Keras, Scikit-Learn, as well as the newest Gen AI models like Mistral. It will additionally provide over 30 projects and cases along with the most recent research papers for practical case studies and detailed insights.
After successfully finishing the program, participants will receive three professional IBM certifications to prepare them for the industry, and they will have the chance to tour the IITM Research Park and interact with faculty, researchers, and fellow AI and ML enthusiasts.
