UPSC opens applications for 80 Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner posts in EPFO. Eligible candidates can apply until September 11, 2026. Selection includes a recruitment test and interview, with the written test scheduled for December 20.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has opened applications for recruitment to 80 Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner (APFC) posts in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online until September 11, 2026.

The recruitment drive is being conducted through UPSC’s direct recruitment process under Special Advertisement No. 52/2026. The notification specifies that applications must be submitted online by 6 pm on September 11. The recruitment test is scheduled for December 20, 2026, and shortlisted candidates will subsequently be called for interviews.

The 80 vacancies include 28 unreserved, 18 OBC, 15 SC, 15 ST and eight EWS positions. Three posts are also reserved for candidates with benchmark disabilities. The recruitment provides an opportunity for eligible graduates seeking a Group A position within the Central government system.

The APFC role comes under EPFO, the organisation responsible for administering India’s statutory provident fund, pension and insurance schemes for eligible employees. Selected officers are expected to undertake responsibilities associated with EPFO administration, enforcement and member services.

According to the official notification, candidates are required to pay an application fee of ₹25, while women candidates, candidates belonging to SC and ST communities, and persons with benchmark disabilities are exempt from the fee. Applicants can make the payment through available digital modes, including card, UPI and internet banking.

The selection process comprises a pen-and-paper Recruitment Test followed by an interview. The written test is intended to shortlist candidates for the next stage of the recruitment process. Candidates must meet the prescribed eligibility requirements by the closing date of the application window.

UPSC advises applicants to carefully enter their personal, educational and other details while completing the online form. Incorrect information can result in rejection of an application or other action under the recruitment rules. Candidates are also advised to use Aadhaar for identity verification where applicable.
