Top 10 Management Colleges in Karnataka - 2022

Karnataka tops in the higher education category in India. The state has maximum number of colleges, and 59 per lakh of the population are eligible for higher education. It ranks third in the country with 4,047 colleges spread across the state. According to All India Survey on Higher education, Benguluru Urban with 1009 colleges is the district with maximum number of colleges. The world-class education and infrastructure facilities, along with immense job opportunities in the city, attract students from all over India. Karnataka is reckoned to be the hub of higher education and is mainly known for courses like Medical & Paramedical, Engineering, Management and Hotel Management.

Most of the colleges in Karnataka are in private or unaided category. Only 18 percent of the colleges are government colleges. Majority of colleges are smaller in terms of enrolment of students. 2.7 percent of the colleges offer PhD programs, and 35.04 percent of colleges run postgraduate (PG) level courses. The course opted by maximum number of students is in Engineering and Technology stream, followed by other science streams.

Karnataka has a GER (Gross Enrolment Ratio) higher than that of national average of 27.1 percent, yet it ranks 15th among other states and UTs in terms of GER in higher education in India. But the state continuous to be the favourite destination for higher education by students from abroad, the state has 10,231 foreign students.
