Envisioning the need for `Renaissance Leaders' having cross functional competency, in 2002 with the support of Bharti Airtel, Aegis was founded in Indore. Becoming the first institution in India to offer one-year Masters in Telecom Management, Aegis later shifted its campus to Mumbai. Seeing the success of industry and academia collaboration in 2015 under the backdrop of exponential disruptive technologies Aegis joined hands with IBM. “Notably, IBM is one of the leading proponents of open source technologies and has invested approximately 24 billion dollars into big data, cognitive, analytics, data science and AI. Our association with IBM has helped us to launch India's first Data Science Program known as Post Graduate Program in Data Science, Business Analytics and Big Data in 2015,” elaborates Bhupesh Daheria, CEO, Aegis School of Data Science. The candidate who successfully completes this program is awarded a joint certificate from IBM and Aegis. Daheria adds, “Lectures are conducted and contents are designed both by our in-house faculty members and subject experts of IBM. This way, our analytics program assists our candidates considerably to stand out from the crowd of other analytics degree holders”.
Through this exclusive 11 months program, the institute promises a globally acceptable credit based post graduate
program, which consists of 45 credit units and is highly demandable in national as well as international market. “To be precise, this program is spread over 9 months plus 2-3 months internship with industry or consulting assignment,” shares Daheria. Courses like Business Intelligence using Cognos BI, Big Data Analytics using IBM InfoSphere Big Insight, IBM SPSS, IBM Cognitive Computing and so on, are taught by the IBM subject matter experts. “We assure our students to receive an intensive hands-on training and develop the unique set of skills that are necessitated in the fastest growing and intellectually stimulating fields of Data Science, Big Data, Business Analytics, Predictive Analytics, and so on,” pinpoints Daheria. The receiver of this program varies from 22 years to 60 years old professionals.
