Cambridge Institute of Technology (CiTech) started by Umesh Education Trust is in the forefront among providers of quality education in the State of Karnataka. Established in the year 2007, Cambridge Institute of Technology has completed nine years in the field of higher education and has become one of the reputed institutes in the region.

Like any other institution, CIT too has vision and mission like – ‘To evolve into a premier institute with an environment that imparts “Quality Education in Engineering, Technology & Management.” However, CiTech makes the difference from the rest because it has grown into a premier institution very quickly in such a short span of time by reflecting a result oriented learning methodology. Dr. L. Suresh, Principal,cites that, “We concentrate on skill development of a person more than teaching, learning is important to develop skill in students.” He adds that

the institute firmly works on a belief to strengthen the learning system in the institute, which can in turn inculcate an overall development.

“Initially there was a big boom in engineering till 2007; however choice of technical education has considerably reduced thereafter. Maintaining the highest quality of education with respect to teaching- learning process, placements, infrastructure and retaining quality staff were real challenges during 2010-2012 for CiTech,” mentions Dr. Suresh. Teaching-learning process in CiTech induces a sense of happiness among students while they receive education. In order to do so, quality in faculty selection is foremost. Quality teaching staff could make learning more interesting for students. A collaborative form of learning wherein faculty members guide the students in activities such as projects, seminars infuse students to take charge of the events. This learning process is further strengthened as students design their own time table along with the faculty members. An institute of 2700 students, 200+ faculty members who emphasize on teaching, CiTech expresses gratitude to industry which provides hands on experience through industry collaboration.

The principal says, “We have an international learning center in our campus where students can take up online certified courses that are provided by reputed universities across the world. As most of these online courses have high fee structure CiTech sponsors half of the fee with a view to encourage students to take up such certification courses to attract opportunities later.” These certificates prove as an added advantage for students apart from academics who seek employment in product manufacturing industry and pursue higher studies abroad CiTech implements skill in students and they are also offered placement to secure their future with highest package like Rs. 15 lakhs and average of Rs. 4.5 -5 lakh per annum. However, Dr. Suresh says, “Our dream is that they should become entrepreneur, however very few chooses the less taken road.” Although CiTech extends facilities required for any start up venture, but students divide according to their choice and opt for jobs and/or further education.
In a short period of time CiTech has been able to establish its standard on par with IIT and is a model Institute of Technology. However,all along CiTech continues to provide an ethical background to students and develop them to become the proud citizens of our nation.
