Affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University, CIET is an ISO certified, NBA Accredited and NAAC - 'A' accredited institute. Started with courses in Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering, CIET later added the Civil Engineering course in the curriculum in 2009. The department of Civil Engineering of CIET is accredited by NBA and it has partnered with Government of Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) - CM's Center of Excellence. Mechanical Engineering and Master's course in Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering were added in the academic year 2012-13.

In the year 2019, the institute introduced Computer Science and Information Technology Branch. In CIET, the curriculum and pedagogical courses in Civil Engineering consists of Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resource Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Construction Technology and Management, which are framed according to the local industrial needs. They have established MOU's with Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), Lakshmi Cement Concrete Plant, CADD Centre, Canter CADD, NSPR Construction Pvt. Ltd, DSNM Global Solutions to fulfill the industrial education of the students.
Striving to create and maintain the standards in teaching, Dr. B. Raveendra Babu, CEO, CIET says, "Our faculty members do follow the developments in their respective field of study so that their expertise and knowledge base remain current to the present trends and technology. The education quality is ensured by periodical review of the faculty members, who are assigned to mentor the students during the counseling hours and help them regarding their careers and other prospects."

For a long time, students from the Civil Engineering department are receiving A.P State Government Prathibha Awards and the institute constantly maintains its university ranking of I & II. The success is due to the reason of advanced technological equipment such as digital total station and universal testing machine (Digital). "In the civil engineering department, we conduct workshops regularly on various latest civil engineering softwares like E-Tabs, Revit, Primavera & Microsoft Project and we organize workshops on surveying equipments like Total station which is being mostly used in civil engineering and hands-on-training is also carried out by the students for their better understanding and creative learning," asserts Dr. Raveendra. Civil Engineering Department has established Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) chapter to cater the needs of students and to enhance their technical skills. Under IGS chapter, various technical seminars and conferences are conducted by inviting prominent Industry and Research experts. Civil Engineering Department has also established a student association (RACE) where the students are encouraged to explore their creative and social skills.
As per CIET curriculum, internship is made mandatory to the students so that they can train themselves as per the industry standards. Dr. Raveendra says, "The list of companies that are offering internships to our students are Panchayat Raj(AP), Irrigation Department(AP), LCC Ready-mix concrete plant Pvt Ltd, KCP cements, Larson & Turbo, Nagarjuna Construction Company, NSPR constructions, Missile Constructions, Square Yard Solutions, Mycon Constructions, MEIL infrastructures." After internships, come placements and the Training and Placement Cell provides relevant academic and career information to enable Students to make informed decisions along the way.
The management at CIET facilitates regular interactive sessions with alumni students with an agenda of guiding the existing students to the right path. Alumni students like P.
