India has 213 private Universities. Students prefer to opt for those institutions which provide better education, good infrastructure and a platform to explore so that they can prepare themselves for their prospective careers. K.R. Mangalam University is a new branch in this tree of Private Universities. With only two and half years since its inception, the university in its first placement drive in its School of Management & Commerce has witnessed 100 percent placement of its eligible students.

The University is an initiative of K.R. Mangalam Group, founded in the year 2013 by Mangalam Edu Gate. The university boasts of its protective and nurturing environment for teaching, research, creativity, scholarship, social and economic justice. It is currently undergoing changes in its schools and respective curriculum. "We are moving into the Choice Based Credit System suggested by UGC," mentions Dr. R.K Mittal, Vice Chancellor of K.R. Mangalam University. Speaking on the Choice Based Credit System incorporated in the new curriculum of the university, Prof Mittal mentions the importance of flexibility it provides to the students and the faculty. Both students and teachers have a choice for their respective subjects.

The Curriculum of these subjects is formed by experts of the higher education fraternity named Board of Studies and finally approved by the Academic Council.
The Academic Advisory Committee includes eminent educationalists from reputed Universities such as Indraprastha University, Delhi University and from other schools of management programs. PhD courses have also been introduced in the current academic year of the university calling for research works. Prof Mittal brings into focus the need of research works in engineering and also specifies the amount of talent and resources available to explore the same. The University is preparing for a bigger placement opportunity in 2017. Therefore, a special placement cell has been introduced for taking note of the various recruiters and providing placement training to the students.

Facilitating over 15000 students and more than 800 faculty members, the University has state-of-art infrastructure and learning facilities. K.R. Mangalam has a diverse and dedicated group of faculty with national and international experience. They are equipped with the vision of the university and ensure quality learning. Faculty is encouraged to undertake socially and technologically relevant research in the latest fields under government agencies like UGC, DRDO, DST and DOE and also from various private industries. Various industry workshops are conductedon embedded systems, soft skills and placement enhancement program. Industry visits to Medicamen Biotech, TERI, Mother Diary and to various Heritage sites allow students to break the monotony of the classroom.

The University believes in buzz words such as globalization and internationalization. It welcomes international students with a platform to explore the natural, cultural, historical shades of India through an academic field trip during summer and winter.The winter and summer school programs of two weeks are conducted in the University campus. The curriculum includes visits to historical monuments and to top notch companies, production facilities in NCR and much more. The University takes pride in providing such platform to study a new subject, meet people from across the globe and learn about different cultures.

The University, in its incipient stage, is still grooming itself. New laboratories with latest equipments are being set up and five new programs have been added in the course list. "I am a strong believer that you are always a student, every day is a learning experience for me being able to work for the various subjects apart from Engineering here," adds Dr Mittal. The future plans in infrastructure and various other developments will take place in a span of next two to three years time.
