A PhD holder, Dr. Badarinarayan has over 30 years of teaching experience. Currently working as Principal of MS Engineering College, he has published many
research papers in national and international conferences. His areas of research include Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Simulation and Quality Management. prime importance to the area of research. The institute has established VTU Research Centres to carry out cuttingedge technology research and the students of UG, PG and Doctoral studies make use of the specialized lab facilities in the areas of VLSI Embedded Systems, Brain Computer Interface(BCI), Under water communication, Composite Materials and Flexible Manufacturing Systems and many more. At MSEC, the funded projects from AICTE, DST, VGST, UGC are available for researchers to carry out their research work and the publication of the work carried out in reputed journal with high impact factor.

The output of the education institutions is the input to the industries. Therefore, there is a need to identify the requirements of the industries and give feedback to the educational institutions, to design and develop product and processes as per the need,” opines Dr. Badarinarayan. With more than 30 MoUs, MSEC has established a relationship with industries in the area of educating the staff and students in product deployment, introduction to latest technologies and familiarising industry culture to students. “Apart from academics, we have additional training programs for
communication, analytical, logical, group discussion and HR skills. The internship, Project works, Industry visits provide the first hand experience to the students and make them ready for the day one acceptance in the industry,” adds Dr. Badarinarayan.

Being located in a city like Bangalore, which is one of the most fertile lands for young entrepreneurs, MSEC has a high focus on creating job creators than churning out job seekers. The institute is awarded with Rs40 lakhs by the Department of Science & Technology funds, under which the best student projects are identified & funded with financial support. They are also provided with incubation facility in order to establish themselves as entrepreneurs.

The motivation required to start the industry, the risk assessment, capital management, HR Management, regulatory requirements for establishing the industries is provided through Entrepreneurship Development cell at MSEC. “We believe in strategic and long term planning.
