Prof. Shashidhar Chiron is the youngest entrepreneur to start and scale up a fully accredited college in India. World Economic Forum and the UN have recognized his service and achievement with awards. The college has integrated curriculum that transcends learning beyond a specific discipline, this is coupled with cutting-edge technology both inside and outside the classroom to offer the students access to the finest education.

Giving more accessibility to students, parents, and educators, the college has a host of tech enablements such as Knowledge Channel and LMS, which cumulatively allow the members of the college to review and access class notes, performance metrics, grades, assignments, group work and all other academic-related material in their own time. All the classrooms are equipped with smart boards, audio-visual

"We have also introduced Business lab and Robotics lab along with windows computer lab as we want our students to learn the latest technologies and their application," states Prof. Khyati Gohil, Assistant Professor, New Shores International College.

Honing the Skills

Offering UG and PG programs in different disciplines like Journalism, Economics, Psychology, Computer Application and Business Management, NSIC also renders pre-university programs. "For every programme, we have arranged something special keeping in mind the demands of the respective fields," shares Vivek Raju S L, Chief Administrator, New Shores International College. For those who have an entrepreneurial mindset, the college has set up an Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP), which equips them with the skill sets necessary for the creation and management of new businesses.

Likewise, a Leadership Development Program has been developed aiming to deliver a transformative behavioral impact on students. "We felt that Leadership development is not sufficed, hence additionally we introduced Personal and Career Development Program (PCDP)," mentions Prof. Khyati. The PCDP is carried out in three phases: Foundation, Advanced, and Completion. Prof. Chiron adds, 'The ultimate aim is to transform our students from 'employable' to 'potential asset to a company' through training them in a right manner."

International Learning Opportunities

For the Bachelor of Computer Application students, the college has partnered with Roboversity that offers guidance and enables students to produce real-world application-based projects every semester. "We are partnering with Bloomberg Financial Markets Lab for our Business Management students, which is an industry benchmark in terms of undertaking research, data analysis, market-moving events and econometrics with the same technology as the top experts around the

world," opines Prof. Chiron.

The growing importance of research in academia has also been taken care by the college in the form of Centre for Students' Research (CSR) that enables the students to learn research methodologies using the finest tools and processes in order to produce high-quality output that contributes to improving industry practices. "The college holds a competition for Best Student Research Award which motivates our students greatly to put their cent percent efforts," says Prof. Khyati. All the teaching-learning processes at the campus are managed by a team of experienced and proficient academicians and also tech-enthusiasts.

The team comes up with innovative learning techniques with a view to making the process more interesting. From following an interactive system that promotes collective learning to enabling the students to participate in global seminars, organizing Harvard Business Simulation and case studies, the faculty members play a significant role in grooming the worldview of the students.

Prof. Khyati says, "Providing a global stage to explore, our students are bestowed with varied opportunities like International Study Tour and international internship. So far the countries where they have undergone internships are Switzerland, Denmark, China, the UK, Greece, the Philippines, just to name a few." Students at NSIC who are aspired to study abroad are given the scope to go for a summer programme where they are open to choose the university, subject matters, and credits. Universities like Harvard University, The London School of Economics, Stanford University and Cornell University are among the many where the students of NSIC have visited till date.
