Dr. H N Shivashankar,Director Today, Engineering is a fashion more than a passion and it is the financial stability offered by engineering career that is giving way for this ongoing trend. Even at this epoch, there are few colleges which are working with a continuous desire to bring out the real engineering talents from the lot. RNS Institute of Technology (RNSIT), established in 2001, is one among them. The institute is the brain-child of the Group Chairman, Dr. R.N. Shetty.

Currently, the institute is headed by Dr. H. N. Shivashankar, the Director and Dr. M K. Venkatesha, the Principal. RNSIT is built on a 160-acre clean-green campus and is managed by a highly committed and proactive management, with a mission to impart high quality education,
enabling graduates to excel in their career. The institution offers seven UG programs, five M.Tech programs, MCA and MBA programs.The best placement rate continuously attained is the hallmark of RNSIT. An independent, self sufficient placement and training cell is functional in the institute since 2002-2003. “The Placement and Training Centre is headed by Sri Muralikrishna K Mysore, Chief Liaison Officer - HRM, who has more than 27 years of experience in industry and is well supported by Dr. Kiran in all the activities of the cell,” says Dr. H N Shivashankar, Director of RNSIT. In order to improve the probability of success in any recruitment process, the cell enhances the employability of the student by conducting specialized training in mathematical ability, aptitude skills, analytical skills, language skills, technical skills along with the on line placement mock tests, which are key skill-sets over and above the academic credentials. The recruitment training is conducted by professionals from in-house resources as well as professional trainers from the corporate world. The training sessions are scheduled during
the semester breaks in addition to crash courses during the start of campus placement season.

Further, special sponsored live projects from reputed industries are conducted in the college to enhance the industry exposures to the students. Special training sessions, beyond the curriculum, on the latest technology like FPGA design, Automation technologies from Bosch Rexroth and so on are conducted by experts from the education as well as industry background and the students are also exposed to industry visits to enhance their corporate knowledge.
While college ensures an overall development of the student, and with this intention, they support literary, cultural and sports activities. These activities foster their leadership qualities, decision making abilities, team spirit, precision, analytical capabilities, socio-psychological awareness to make an individual an intellectually mature being.
