Indian nursing education sector is serving international places like the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the Gulf countries with qualified and skilled nurses. This has been possible due to the outstanding education delivered by top colleges like Sri Venkateshwara College of Nursing (SVCN). Located in Taluk, Bengaluru, SVCN started in 2003 with diploma level General Nursing and Midwifery, M Sc Nursing, B Sc Nursing and PBB Sc Nursing courses. Since establishment, the college envisioned to create the nursing professionals by placing them in challenging situations for optimum skill development. SVCN is affiliated to the Karnataka state Nursing Council (KNC) and the programs offered by the college are recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Indian Nursing Council (INC).

Dynamic Learning Experience
Students get to stay in a beautiful hostel where hygienic and excellent South Indian and North Indian food are served. They learn in well constructed six acre lush campus with all the modern amenities and good infrastructure surrounding, which is made exclusively for nursing education. Whether it is classrooms, laboratories, or the compound with sports facility for students, a digital lab and computer for learning nursing technology, a library and soft skill training lab, SVCN has got wonderful learning facilities for the students. "I want to take the nursing education to a higher level compared to what it is today. Most of the people regard nursing profession a low level occupation. A thorough evaluation process including self evaluation, subject expert evaluation, primary tests has enabled students of SVCN to perform exuberantly in final examinations and get ranks at the university level. Faculties adopt interactive learning methods for better results. Integrating the theoretical learning with enriched practical learning sessions that sparkles the students' skilling procedure resulting into an outstanding outcome at the end of learning period, SVCN surmounts threats related to average performance. "Based on the needs of particular clinical demands, the faculties conduct skill development programmes. Seminars, symposiums, case studies and external faculty visits are factions of the curriculum that describes the different challenges students can encounter at work. Old age day, diabetics day, breastfeeding week are some of the initiatives to educate and demonstrate the importance of health and hygiene is done by students of SVCN," explains Dr. Jayashree.

SVCN students are associated with the Margali Healthcare Center. The center assists students to visit villages, educate the villagers on different diseases, health and nutrition. In association with Reliance Club, SVCN conducts blood donation campaign on a regular basis that encourages students to take up more communal development programmes. Moreover, in order to make students proficient in communicating in multiple languages so that they can work in their desired location, the nursing college promotes language learning among the students. By collaborating with famous hospitals like Narayana Hospitals, Colombia Asia, Sparsh Hospital, SATI Research Center, SVCN gives students the platform to gain industrial
nursing skills.

In government hospitals like Victoria, SVCN sends the students to gain insights on day to day nursing practices. The faculties even send the students for learning clinical practices to reputed hospitals Garware Institute of Mental Sciences. And regarding the placement, SVCN students are well placed hospitals in the same hospitals Narayana Hospitals, Sparsh, Columbia Asia, St. John's, Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital & Research Center, Narayana Hospitals Kolkata, Jupiter Hospital, Mumbai. Like this in all reputed hospitals in Bangalore and outside Bangalore, SVCN is catering to the needs of the nursing professionals. The students get placed at the diploma level and the degree level. At present SVCN is trying to resolve health hazards in northeastern part of India. Rising political and economical problems has been a constant threat which the college is trying to solve. "There is no awareness about the basic education in this particular part of the country. This is why we are trying to highlight the areas by sending the students. Having over 15 years of clinical and 18 years of teaching experience, she holds the position of principal at SNNC. Dr. Indira is also the editor in chief of Narayana Nursing College. She has 87 research publications in national and international journals.
