Synopsis: The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited has invited applications for 237 Technician posts for India's bullet train project. Eligible candidates can apply online until August 5, 2026.

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), as the implementing agency for India’s Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, has started a hiring push, for 237 Technician posts spanning several technical disciplines. This recruitment drive is meant to shore up the workforce behind the country’s very first bullet train initiative, and the online applications will stay open until August 5, 2026.

The openings are there across quite a lot of technical trades, like Electrical Technician, Signaling and Telecom Technician , Civil/Track Fitter, Civil/Track Mechanic, Rolling Stock Electrician, Rolling Stock Fitter, Draftsman, Surveyor, Welder, Plumber, Painter, Machinist, and also a few other specialised roles. In general, the biggest set of vacancies has been released for Electrical (77 posts) and Signalling & Telecom (63 posts).

Candidates applying for the positions have to finish their Matriculation, which is Class 10 along with getting an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate in the related trade, or maybe an apprenticeship certificate, or alternatively a three-year diploma in the matching engineering discipline. On top of that, applicants need to show at least two years of experience in the operations and maintenance departments, in Indian Railways, Metro Rail systems, Regional Rapid Transit Systems (RRTS) or other government-owned and government-operated railway organisations. Eligibility and the experience status will be checked as on June 30, 2026.

The upper age limit for applicants is 35 years, with age relaxations being possible for eligible reserved category candidates as per the government norms, of course. Once selected, candidates will be appointed on an absorption basis at the NE-2 pay level, getting a salary in the range of ₹35,000 to ₹1, 10,000 per month plus relevant allowances. The appointment location could be at NHSRCL offices, or at the project sites linked to the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor.

The selection journey is made up of a Computer-Based Test, CBT then Document Verification and finally a Medical Examination. Those who manage to clear every stage will be kept on a one year probation stretch before service is confirmed, like a trial phase. The CBT for all the notified technician roles will be taken on the same day itself, and the medical examination timings will be updated and announced later on the official NHSRCL website.

Applicants from the General, OBC, and EWS categories need to pay an application fee of ₹400, whereas people in the SC, ST and women categories are exempt from that fee. This recruitment exercise is basically expected to help build the growing technical workforce needed for India’s flagship high-speed rail project, and it also gives experienced railway professionals a chance to pitch in toward one of the country’s most notable transportation infrastructure efforts.
