Chandigarh University, 247VC Sign MoU for Deep-Tech Startups

Chandigarh University’s CUBIC signs an MoU with 247VC to connect quantum and deep-tech startups with potential investment, mentorship and business-development opportunities.

Chandigarh University’s Centre for Innovation and Business Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CUBIC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 247VC Investment Trust to create potential investment and business-development opportunities for quantum and deep-tech startups. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the PRAGATI Q-FOUNDRY 2026 NQM Co-development and Venture Partnership Meet held in New Delhi on September 29-30.

Under the partnership, startups associated with CUBIC may gain access to potential seed-stage and eligible early-stage funding opportunities, strategic mentorship and investor networks. CUBIC can identify suitable startups from its incubation ecosystem and facilitate introductions to 247VC, subject to the venture capital firm’s investment mandate, sector preferences and stage requirements.

The collaboration will also support investor-startup interactions through pitch sessions, curated meetings, demo days and other platforms. CUBIC may assist eligible ventures in preparing business plans, pitch decks, financial projections and technology and intellectual property documentation required for fundraising. Where mutually agreed, 247VC representatives may provide guidance on fundraising, business development, commercialization and market access.

The two organisations will further explore opportunities to connect eligible startups with venture capital funds, angel investors, family offices, corporate investors and strategic partners. Selected startups may also be considered for follow-on investment as they progress through subsequent stages of growth and fundraising. However, the MoU establishes a framework for collaboration and does not guarantee funding or require 247VC to invest in any startup.

CUBIC has also become an academic and incubation partner for PRAGATI Q-Foundry 2026, a national initiative of the Ministry of Science and Technology aimed at accelerating the development and commercialisation of quantum technologies. The initiative brings together startups, academic institutions, industry, investors and manufacturers to support the transition of quantum technologies from research towards validation, co-development, commercialisation and deployment under India’s National Quantum Mission.

Jai Inder Singh Sandhu, Managing Director, Chandigarh University, said the partnership aims to strengthen the connection between academic research, industry, investors and strategic users. He highlighted the need to link research and technology validation with industry adoption, investment and entrepreneurship to translate quantum research into commercial applications.

CUBIC’s focus extends beyond quantum technologies to areas including semiconductors, photonics, advanced materials, robotics and artificial intelligence. The university said the collaborations are intended to strengthen the research-to-incubation-to-investment pathway and support the development of indigenous deep-tech ventures in India.
