Google Launches Paid Internships for UG, PG, PhD Students

- Google will offer paid internships and apprenticeships in 2026 for undergraduate and postgraduate students

Google has announced the launch of paid internship and apprenticeship programs scheduled to begin in 2026, which will target students who are pursuing their Bachelor’s Master’s and PhD degrees.
The programs offer students the chance to acquire practical skills through hands-on work experience which spans multiple technical fields and research domains while working on actual business problems in a Google work environment.
Selected candidates will work from Google offices located in major Indian technology hub cities which include Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad. The programs are structured to combine practical learning with mentorship from experienced professionals which helps students develop their technical skills and professional abilities.
The Silicon Engineering Intern (PhD) program for summer 2026 exists as one of the available employment options. This role is open to candidates who currently study for their PhD degrees in Computer Engineering, Computer Science Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar technical fields.
Interns will collaborate with hardware and software architects to create and assess upcoming Cloud Silicon technologies which they will design and develop.

Google is also offering a Software Engineering PhD Internship. Applicants who are pursuing their PhD studies in software development or related technical fields can submit their applications.
The program lasts from 12 to 14 weeks and includes practical project work along with professional development activities and an executive speaker series and team-building events. Interns will develop software systems that function without issues on different operating systems.
The Student Researcher Program allows students who are enrolled in Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD programs to participate in research across multiple fields including Computer Science Linguistics Statistics Applied Mathematics Economics and Natural Sciences.
The participants will work with research teams or engineering teams or scientific teams to develop solutions for large-scale projects which tackle actual world problems.
