IIT Kanpur Placements 2025-26: 1,200+ Offers in Phase 1

- Phase one of IIT Kanpur's 2025–26 placements saw 1,202 offers, with 1,079 accepted, including pre-placement offers (PPOs)
- 15 students secured international offers, with more global opportunities expected in phase two
- The first day saw a record 672 offers, a 16% increase from last year, with a 20% rise in PPOs
Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) has announced the successful completion of the initial phase of campus placements for the graduating class of 2025-26. In order to offer the recruiters and the students the utmost convenience, the hiring process took place in on-campus, virtual, and hybrid modes.
This first phase saw a participation of more than 250 companies from different industries, which resulted in a total of 1,202 job offers, out of which 1,079 were accepted by the students, including those from pre-placement offers (PPOs).
One of the major accomplishments was that 15 students managed to take home international offers from the leaders in their respective industries in Europe, Japan, Korea, and the USA. The placements phase two which is slated to start by mid-January 2026 is likely to widen the global avenues for the students of IIT-K even more.

The phase consisted of both local and foreign firms that are among the world leaders: Accenture, Airbus, American Express, BlackRock, Boeing, Databricks, Deutsche Bank, ICICI Bank, Mastercard, Meesho, Navi, PwC, Qualcomm, Samsung, InMobi, Square Point Capital, etc., besides many more. The participation of several prestigious Public Sector Undertakings like BPCL, BEL, MIDHANI, and EIL was also a crucial factor.
Among the remarkable events taking place during the first day of placement season, students from IIT-Kanpur received a whopping 672 job offers, which were the highest ever. The increase is 16% compared to last year's day-one placements.
The total amount of offers might go up because still there are some results left to be declared. The number of PPOs also observed a considerable 20% growth over the last year with 253 offers, while nine students got the job opportunity to work abroad.
