IIT Mandi MBA Admissions Open for Data Science, AI 2026-28

Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) is accepting applications for its MBA in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (DS&AI) program for the 2026-28 batch through the School of Management.

This MBA program will not only familiarize the students with data science, AI, and business management, but will also ensure that they acquire the skills to be the leaders in the present technology-consumed business world.

The syllabus mixes fundamental business rules with state-of-the-art technologies like AI, machine learning, and digital strategy that would help the students to not only take over but also to change the companies in the digital era. Regularly with industry leaders, the program is updated, thus ensuring it is always in sync with changing market demands.

The program includes access to high-tech analytics labs, advanced computing centers, and IIT Mandi’s tech incubator, Catalyst, thus giving the students an immense technical ecosystem for experiential learning.

Experiential learning is the core element of the program, providing live projects, AI-based business case challenges, internships, hackathons, and industry exposure as means of learning. Moreover, the global nature of the program is further reinforced through international partnerships, guest faculty, and exposure programs.

Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, Director of IIT Mandi, states that the MBA in DS&AI corresponds to the institute’s goal of building up future business leaders who will be able to use data and AI for eco-friendly and creative purposes.

The program has very good placement results, as the last cohort received an average CTC of ₹18 LPA and the highest CTC of ₹49 LPA, with companies from sectors such as analytics, consulting, BFSI, and AI-powered businesses recruiting the best talent.

Through two categories, applicants are allowed to apply:  Category 1 (CAT-based) for those having CAT 2025 scores or Category 2 (CAT-exempted) for candidates from Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) or institutions ranked top by NIRF.

The application portal is scheduled to open on December 24, 2025, and to be closed on January 27, 2026. The selected candidates will be notified to attend a personal interview.
