Synopsis: NCST invites applications for its Internship Programme 2026, offering a ₹15,000 stipend, hands-on research experience, and exposure to tribal policy and governance for eligible students and research scholars.

The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) has invited applications for its Internship Programme 2026, offering students and research scholars an opportunity to gain practical exposure to policymaking, research, and governance related to tribal affairs. The programme is designed to foster academic engagement while enabling participants to contribute to the Commission’s research and analytical activities concerning the welfare and development of Scheduled Tribes. Applications are being accepted through the NCST Grievance Redressal and Management System (NCSTGRAMS) portal until June 18, 2026.

The internship aims to provide participants with insights into constitutional safeguards, policy frameworks, and development initiatives related to tribal communities. Selected interns will work at the Commission’s headquarters in New Delhi or its regional offices, depending on administrative requirements and the availability of positions. The programme also seeks to enhance research and policy analysis skills among students while supporting the Commission’s ongoing work.

According to the eligibility criteria, applicants must have secured at least 60 percent marks or an equivalent grade in their most recent qualifying examination. Students currently in the second year of their undergraduate studies, graduates, postgraduates, and research scholars from recognized institutions are eligible to apply. The Commission may relax eligibility conditions in exceptional cases.
