SBI Recruitment 2026 Opens Group CISO Post With 2.5 Cr Pay

SBI invites applications for one Group CISO post with annual CTC of up to ₹2.5 crore. Eligible cybersecurity professionals can apply online until September 24, 2026, subject to the prescribed age, qualification and experience criteria.

The State Bank of India (SBI) has invited applications for the post of Group Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) on a contractual basis. The recruitment is for one vacancy, with the selected candidate eligible for annual compensation of up to ₹2.50 crore. Applications are open until September 24, 2026.

The position is based in Mumbai or Navi Mumbai, although SBI may transfer or depute the selected officer according to organisational requirements. The initial contractual engagement will be for three years and may be extended by up to two additional years.

SBI Group CISO Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must meet the prescribed educational, age and professional experience requirements as of August 31, 2026. Applicants should not be more than 57 years old on the specified date and must have the relevant professional experience required for the senior cybersecurity position.

Eligible educational qualifications include a BTech or BE in Computer Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Cyber Security or an equivalent discipline, with at least 50% marks.

Candidates holding MCA, MTech or MSc qualifications in the specified disciplines can also apply, subject to the conditions outlined in SBI's recruitment notification. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCISO and CISA are listed as preferred qualifications and must be valid on the date of the interview.

SBI Group CISO Salary and Application Process: The compensation for the position is negotiable and will depend on the candidate's experience and suitability. However, the maximum annual CTC is ₹2.50 crore. The role is focused on overseeing and strengthening SBI's information security and cyber security operations.

Eligible candidates can apply through SBI's official careers portal by locating Advertisement No. CRPD/SCO/2026-27/21 under Current Openings. The application fee is ₹750 for General, EWS and OBC candidates, while candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwBD categories are exempted.
