SSC Opens Applications for 1,871 Sub-Inspector Posts in 2026
SSC has opened applications for 1,871 Sub-Inspector posts in Delhi Police and CAPFs. Eligible graduates aged 20-25 can apply from September 10 to 30, 2026. Selected candidates will receive Pay Level 6 salaries of ₹35,400-₹1,12,400.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2026, opening applications for 1,871 tentative vacancies. The recruitment drive covers Sub-Inspector positions in Delhi Police and various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), offering opportunities for graduates seeking careers in law enforcement and central security services.
The online application process began on today, and eligible candidates can submit their forms until September 30, 2026, at 11 PM. The application fee can be paid until October 1, while the correction window is scheduled from October 8 to October 10. Candidates are required to complete the application process through the SSC's official portal.

For the posts of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and SI (General Duty) in CAPFs, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification. Candidates appearing in their final year may also apply, subject to fulfilling the prescribed qualification requirements by the specified deadline. For the SI in Delhi Police post, male candidates must possess a valid driving licence for a Light Motor Vehicle, covering motorcycle and car, at the time of the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test.
The prescribed age limit is generally 20 to 25 years as on August 1, 2026, with relaxation applicable to eligible reserved categories as per government rules. Candidates must also meet the physical and medical standards specified for the respective posts. The recruitment process involves multiple stages, including a computer-based examination, physical standard and endurance tests, document verification and medical examination.
Selected candidates will be appointed in Pay Level 6, carrying a basic pay scale of ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400, along with applicable allowances and benefits under government service rules.
