SSC JE Option Preference Submission Window Opens

Synopsis: SSC opens the option-cum-preference submission window for Junior Engineer recruitment, allowing qualified candidates to indicate their preferred departments and organizations before the final allocation process.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has activated the option-cum-preference submission process for candidates who have qualified in the Junior Engineer (JE) Examination. The facility allows eligible candidates to select and prioritize their preferred departments, ministries, and organizations for appointment, an important step in the recruitment process before final allocation is made.

According to the Commission, candidates who have cleared the required stages of the examination can submit their preferences through the official Staff Selection Commission website within the stipulated deadline. The option-cum-preference form enables candidates to indicate the order in which they wish to be considered for available posts across participating government departments and organizations.

SSC has advised candidates to exercise caution while filling out their preferences, as the choices submitted will play a crucial role in determining the allocation of posts after the final results are declared. Once the submission window closes, candidates may not be given another opportunity to modify their selections, making it essential to review all preferences carefully before final submission.

The Junior Engineer recruitment examination is conducted to fill engineering vacancies in disciplines such as Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering across various ministries, departments, and government organizations. Thousands of engineering graduates and diploma holders participate in the examination each year, making it one of the most sought-after technical recruitment processes in the public sector.

Candidates are encouraged to assess factors such as job profile, location preferences, career growth opportunities, and departmental responsibilities before finalizing their choices. The Commission has also advised applicants to complete the process well before the deadline to avoid technical issues arising from heavy website traffic during the final days of submission.

The option-cum-preference exercise forms a critical component of the recruitment cycle, ensuring that candidates are considered for positions aligned with their professional interests and preferences. Following the completion of this stage, SSC will proceed with the final selection and allocation process based on candidates’ merit, category, and submitted preferences.

The latest notification reflects SSC’s continued efforts to streamline recruitment procedures through digital platforms while ensuring greater transparency and efficiency in the allocation of government engineering positions. Candidates are advised to regularly monitor the official SSC portal for further updates regarding results, document verification, and final appointments.
