UPSC stated that candidates from diverse academic backgrounds such as engineering, science, atmospheric studies, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, oil technology, chemical engineering, and language studies are eligible to apply depending on post-specific criteria. Educational qualifications range from bachelor’s degrees to postgraduate qualifications and doctoral degrees in specialised disciplines.

The recruitment process will primarily involve shortlisting followed by interviews, without a conventional written examination for most posts. Officials noted that the selection system is designed to assess academic expertise, professional competence, and communication abilities relevant to specialised government roles.

The application fee has been fixed at ₹25, while women candidates, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are exempted from payment. Reservation benefits and age relaxations will be provided according to Government of India norms.

Selected candidates will receive pay under Level 10 and higher categories of the 7th Central Pay Commission, along with additional allowances and permanent gazetted status. Analysts note that the recruitment initiative reflects the government’s continued emphasis on strengthening technical and administrative expertise across strategic public sector departments.
